The Asian Conference on Urban Disaster Reduction (ACUDR) started in 2012 to widely exchange academic and social information on urban disaster risk reduction in Asia among related academic societies in the countries.
The 6th ACUDR in 2025 will be held in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
The purpose of this international conference is to explore pathways beyond mere recovery, marking 30 years since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. It serves as a platform to reflect on the experiences and lessons of the past three decades, discussing sustainability, resilience, and the transmission of knowledge to future generations. By sharing insights from long-term recovery with the world, the conference aims to pave the way for enhanced disaster prevention and mitigation. It offers an opportunity for not only experts but also practitioners and diverse stakeholders to come together and envision a new future.
