2013 + 2017 elections: ward 13

Three candidates ran in Ward 13 in 2013, while seven candidates ran in 2017 (Open Calgary, 2017b; Open Calgary, 2017c).
In 2013, Diane Colley-Urquhart was elected with 52.4% of the vote (Open Calgary, 2017b).
In 2017, Diane Colley-Urquhart was elected with 31.9% of the vote (Open Calgary, 2017c).
- Colley-Urquhart was one of two councillors to receive a smaller vote share in 2017, with the other Councillor being Ward 9's Gian-Carlo Carra.

Ward changes

Ward 13 increased in area by 33% with the boundary changes implemented for the 2017 election; while the ward's total population increased by 9%, from 82929 to 90372 residents (Open Calgary, n.d. a; Open Calgary, n.d. b).

Councillor Diane Colley-Urquhart was first elected in a by-election in 2000, and is the longest-standing councillor included in this project. She was reelected for her sixth (full) term in office in 2017 (City of Calgary, 2017h).
