County Level 4-H Events

Throughout the year, 4-H members can participate beyond the club in county level 4-H events. Below is a list of annual 4-H events available to all Seminole County 4-H members. View our calendar: Click Here

Awards Night

Awards night is an event for all club members. On this evening, awards are given for record books, volunteer hours and many other events held throughout the year. Awards such as year pins, project area pins, ribbons and trophies are given out.

County Events

April 8, 2021

This event is one where 4-H members can display and share knowledge of what they have learned over the year in their project area. Members can participate by displaying gameboards, photos, posters, project boards and things they have sewn. Members can also participate by giving a speech, demonstration or model their clothing in the Fashion Review. At the end of the event members are awarded ribbons and can move onto district events.

Italian Dinner & Silent Auction

This event is open to the public and is a fundraiser for Seminole County 4-H. Before the dinner starts guests can walk around and bid on various items in the silent auction. If you are lucky you may just win one of the many items. 4-H members can volunteer to work behind the scenes in the kitchen or out front serving food and drinks.

Officer Training

November 20, 2021 9:00 am-1:00 pm

Open to all Seminole County 4-H members serving in leadership roles in their club. These roles can include elected officer positions, committee leadership, and other responsibilities. Training will help prepare 4-H members to take on leadership positions in their club.

Share the Fun

February 11, 2022

This is an exciting event that is very much like a talent show. This event is open to all 4-H members. Members can sing, act, dance and display any talent they have. Acts can be solo or in a group. Members are judged and can receive awards to move onto district events if they are ages 8 and up.

District and State Level 4-H Events

Central Florida Fair:

The Central Florida Fair is a six-county, Not-for-Profit district fair that provides a venue for youth exhibitors in Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Lake, Osceola, and Brevard counties.4-H members can display and share knowledge of what they have learned over the year in their project area. Members can participate by displaying photos, posters, project boards. 4-H youth livestock projects are entered in the annual Fair, which include, swine, lamb, cattle, poultry, rabbits, cavies and horses.

4-H Summer Camp:

4-H Camp Cloverleaf, Lake Placid, FL

Open to youth ages 8 (as of September 1 of current 4-H year) to 18, this week-long residential summer camp provides opportunities to explore the outdoor environment and make new friends.

Legislature:

Teen 4-H members serve as Florida 4-H senators, representatives, lobbyists, media correspondents, Lieutenant Governor, or Governor in a mock style experience. The 4-H youth learn how laws can be considered, passed, or voted in legislative session at the Florida State Capitol. Members learn leadership through communication and by defending the theory of representing citizens and making public policy. This event is open to 4-H members ages 13 to 18.

District Share the Fun:

This event is for those who received a blue ribbon at the county level Share the Fun. Participants showcase their talents and one senior 4-Her gets picked to participate at the state level Share the Fun.

University:

4-H University is a great event to learn about different career choices. At the District Share the Fun event, the senior who is chosen to perform at University for the state level Share the Fun. Youth participate in educational workshops and meet others from all over the state. Each year, a guest speaker joins the University group to give inspiration or present a comedic speech. This is a one week event, and is held during the summer.

Executive Board:

The Executive Board is a group of 4-H members from across the state that represent their county and district. Each member attends committee meetings, where they help the state officers and adults plan the state events. There are three Executive Board events per 4-H year, and youth will get appointed to become a part of the board. The first two events are only open to the appointees. However, the Third Executive Board is open to 4-H members who are 14-18. (4-H age)

Intermediate State:

This summer event is open to youth aged 11 to 13 as campers, but seniors in 4-H can participate as counselors. The 4-H intermediates will learn about the state events that they can join when they become seniors. They can also learn about the several events, programs and contests that 4-H has to offer. Intermediate State also offers "funshops," (cool activity workshops!) such as kayaking, crafts, dance, shooting sports, and more. This event will be held from June 12-14, 2020 at 4-H Camp Cherry Lake.

4-H Day at the Capitol:

This one-day event allows youth to learn about their state government. Each member can make an appointment with their senator, representative, or legislative aide, where youth will talk about Florida 4-H. Youth can also enjoy some time in the Capitol building and have an interesting political experience.
