There are many alarms and safety devices set up for the pool. If you have children, non-swimmers, accident-prone individuals, or are drinking please use them. The safety equipment is there to protect you and your loved ones. If you disable them it is at your own discretion, risk, and responsibility.
The floating pool alarm sits in the pool when the pool is not in use and detects any motion in the water when someone enters the pool. The floating alarm will sound off when triggered. To reset it, lift it out of the water and turn it upside down for 5 seconds. Keep the floating pool alarm out of the pool when the pool is in use.
An alarm will also sound inside the Master Bedroom to the left of the double doors if the switch is on. At your own discretion, risk, and responsibility, this can be activated or deactivated by using the switch.
There is a door alarm on the double doors in the Master Bedroom and a window alarm on the window in the pool-side guest room.
If you wish to keep the alarm active during your stay, you must press the button on the door before entering or exiting. The alarm becomes disabled for 10 seconds while you enter/exit the doors. If you do not want the alarm active, at your own discretion, risk, and responsibility, simply remove the batteries. Please put batteries back in upon checking out.
Please keep the aluminum gates closed at all times and do not prop them open. There are keys to lock the gates if you prefer. Please reach out to me.
Please keep the wrought-iron gates pad-locked for just-in-case scenarios
There is a lifesaver ring by the pool. It is for emergencies only.
Seek medical attention if you are seriously injured. The first aid kit is for very minor injuries. It is located in the Master Bedroom closet in the cabinet
The smoke alarms are networked together so if one goes off, they all go off. If there is an actual fire, vacate the house, and please call the fire department and then me. If they accidentally go off please air out the house and fan the suspected alarm with a dishrag until it stops. If it does not stop within a few minutes, remove the batteries. Reinsert the batteries after a while. If the problem persists please contact me.
The carbon monoxide alarm is located in the hallway. If it goes off please vacate the house and call the fire department and then me.
There is a fire extinguisher in the laundry room closet on top of the water heater. If there is a fire, please vacate everyone from the house, call the fire department, and only use the fire extinguisher on small fires and if you are comfortable doing so.
