Tiffany Fairey 

Research Fellow, King’s College London

Photovoice and Peace Building

Tiffany Fairey is a Research Fellow in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. Her research concentrates on arts-based and creative peacebuilding with a focus on visual peace research. She has been awarded a Leverhulme Fellowship to undertake a multi-country study of participatory peace photography. Co-founder of UK charity, PhotoVoice she has 20+ years’ experience working with participatory visual methods as a practitioner and academic. Recent publications include in Peacebuilding (2023), Journal of War, Media and Conflict (2023), Visual Studies (2018) and Photography & Culture (2019, 2020). Her forthcoming book Imaging Peace will be published by Edinburgh University Press in 2025. 


Ingrid Guyon

Founding Director of Fotosynthesis 

Photovoice and Peace Building

Ingrid Guyon is a photographer, filmmaker and participatory visual media practitioner with 15 years of experience in designing and implementing participatory and community-based projects and processes, trainings and audiovisual production with the education, museums, NGOs, international development and peacebuilding sectors. She is founding director of Fotosynthesis, a social enterprise specializing in participatory media and audiovisual production, and an associate of Insightshare. As a freelancer, she also produces photographic assignments or documentaries and impact videos and has a strong interest in ethics of images and stories of resilience and inspiration. 

Jennifer Fricas PhD, MPH, RN  

Assistant Professor at Seattle University

Photovoice in Disability and Health Justice  

Jennifer Fricas is an Assistant Professor at Seattle University (SU), where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in population and global health. Jennifer’s areas of expertise include critical public and global health, education and development, health and human rights, and community-based well-being. She has experience in numerous qualitative and practice-oriented scholarship methods including photovoice, community-based participatory research, program development and evaluation, and ethnographic methods. She has developed and conducted numerous photovoice trainings for faculty and graduate students, both at SU and in collaboration with partners in Ecuador and South Korea. She lives in Seattle with her partner and their chiweenie, Luna. 


Daniela E. Miranda

Universidad de Sevilla

Photovoice in Migrant Justice and Migration 

Dr. Daniela E. Miranda is a postdoctoral research fellow originally from the United States who has built her academic career in the European context at the Center for Community Research and Action at the Universidad de Sevilla (CESPYD). Her specific contributions have expanded the field of community psychology, in which her co-produced research approaches have aimed to address antigypysism, the specific racism experienced by Roma communities. 


She was awarded the American Psychological Association Division 27 SCRA 2022 Community Psychology Dissertation of the Year Award during the 2021-2023 awards season. She is a founding member of the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) Roma Health network and is active in scientific dissemination and scientific meetings in various settings. This past year, Daniela was a Visiting Researcher at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom where she focused on understanding the methodological implications of co-creation for public health research. Currently she is at Universidad de Sevilla leading a research grant in a project titled AndaRomi alongside Roma mothers and daughters to explore concepts around womanhood, the use of digital tools for co-creation and advocacy linked to reproductive justice. Daniela is passionate about building meaningful relationships between researchers and communities and challenge the boundaries of co-creation. 

Rocío Garrido

Universidad de Sevilla

Photovoice in Migrant Justice and Migration 

Rocío Garrido has a PhD in psychology and is committed to promoting human rights advocacy within and beyond the university. Her area of interest is community-based participatory action research aimed at promoting equity and empowerment of minority groups (e.g., migrants, LGBTQ+ people, women in situations of exclusion) from an intersectional perspective. She believes that art is a powerful tool for promoting well-being, participation, and social justice in society. 

Aspasia Dania

Assistant Professor at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece

Photovoice in Youth and Activism for Social Change   

Dr. Aspasia Dania (PhD), is an Assistant Professor and researcher at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She lectures on the Doctoral, Master (hons) and Undergraduate Program of Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy and has an extensive record of research publications in leading education research journals in the topics of Sport Pedagogy, Social Pedagogy, Physical Education Teacher Education, Coach Education and Qualitative Research, all with a focus on equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion. 

Dimitra Korovila 

Master Student in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy at National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece

Photovoice in Youth and Activism for Social Change   

Dimitra Korovila is a Master Student at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sport science and a professional certification in Tae Kwo Do Coaching.

Laura Lorenz (she/her)

Co-founder, Educator

Laura was introduced to photovoice in 2000 while exploring arts-based approaches to youth programming and civic engagement for an MEd in Instructional Design. A year later, she designed a photovoice civic engagement project for teenage girls, which led to projects with such diverse participants as South African youth, adults with traumatic brain injury, and individuals living with anxiety disorder.

Since 2008, Laura has led photovoice trainings for medical schools, professional societies, community funding organizations, and government agencies, and offered photovoice professional development courses for clinicians, researchers, educators, students, and managers. In 2018, she launched PhotovoiceWorldwide’s “Talking with Pictures: photovoice” course through the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Outreach College and Center on Disability Studies. Laura has a PhD in Social Policy from Brandeis University and an MEd from UMass Boston. She holds a BA in English Literature from Bowdoin College.

Erica Belli (she/her)

Project Manager – Educator

A photographer and educator based in Italy, Erica graduated from the Italian Institute of Photography and specialized in semiotics at CFP Bauer, a vocational school in Milan. Working across nations to implement participatory photography projects, she is a member of Voce, a collective dedicated to participatory art actions. Her past work has focused on communities, migration, trauma, and current issues. 

At PhotovoiceWorldwide, Erica combines her role as a project manager with that of an instructor for our Creative Facilitation course, where she shares her expertise in arts-based techniques. Involved in a number of projects, she likes to be able to diversify her work.

Erica has traveled and lived in different countries in Europe and Asia, and especially enjoyed her life in Thailand and Canada. She is passionate about film photography, cinema, dancing, and hula hooping. 

Currently pursuing a degree in psychology while getting certified as an art therapist, Erica specializes in photo and video therapy.

Julie Sanders (she/her)

Bookkeeper

Julie joined PhotovoiceWorldwide 2021.  After spending several years raising her two children, Julie returned to the workforce and to her love of working with numbers. She provides bookkeeping and data analysis services for the team. 

In addition to her role at PhotovoiceWorldwide, Julie also manages the operations of a private behavioral health practice.  She finds great fulfillment in helping others in need. Julie holds a bachelor of science in Mathematics.  To provide some balance to her time spent on spreadsheets, she also holds certifications in teaching yoga and meditation.  Outside of work, Julie enjoys practicing yoga, running, reading, and baking.

Lee Anne Tourigny (she/her)

Project Coordinator 

Lee Anne holds a B.S. in psychology with a double minor in communications and American Sign Language. She loves learning about new photography techniques and conducting qualitative research to create a more accessible, inclusive and equitable world, specifically for those with disabilities in higher education and in the workforce. 

In addition to working with PhotovoiceWorldwide, Lee Anne is the coordinator disability outreach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte's Career Center. She is in her 2nd year in the M.A. psychology program at UNC Charlotte, with the eventual goal of earning her PhD and working for a university or nonprofit. In her spare time, Lee Anne enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and photography.

Stephanie Lloyd (she/her)

Evaluator, Educator

Stephanie Lloyd brings more than a decade of experience in the non-profit, academic, and social impact sectors. She has dedicated her career to advancing social justice through research, evaluation, and service by supporting programs and organizations that address inequalities and provide a voice to individuals. Throughout her career, she has implemented and evaluated numerous programs, engaged youth in service and leadership development, and supported teams in using data to inform strategy.

Stephanie holds a Master of Education in Applied Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. As an AmeriCorps alumna, she believes in the power of social good to uplift communities. Her areas of expertise include program evaluation, survey methodology, Photovoice, data visualization, and youth development. Outside of working and volunteering, Stephanie enjoys photography, travel, and sports. She has been collaborating and teaching with PhotovoiceWorldwide since 2018.

Diana Weggler (she/her)

Content Editor, Proofreader

Diana joined the PhotovoiceWorldwide team in 2020 as a content editor and proofreader. Involved in writing for and editing print publications since childhood, she has made wordsmithing her professional career for more than 20 years. In addition, she spent 10 years as the senior speechwriter for the president of a small, liberal arts university in New England.

Educated at Cornell University, Diana holds a bachelor of arts in English, and her passion for words manifests in epic games of Scrabble with family and friends. When not knitting, she serves as President of the Board of the independent nonprofit The Veterans’ Place, Inc., which provides transitional housing and programs for homeless Veterans. The mother of four grown children, Diana lives in Central Vermont with her husband of 41 years, their Karelian Bear Dog Luna, and a Virgin Island rescue mutt named St. Thomas.

Ania Puciata (she/her)

Graphic Designer

Ania began her peripatetic travels at a young age, and developed a desire for adventure, language and other communication methods, as well as the desire to better understand the cultures she visited. Her international experiences, along with individuals met along the way, ignited an appetency for the need for sustainable practices worldwide. From involvement in the climate change movement, to the understanding of one’s carbon footprint, to eco-product design, to permaculture as a way of life- sustainable practices, from the production phase to the final consumption, are of dire importance to Ania. Creativity has always flowed through her veins. Be it through gardening, art, travel, or yoga practice, Ania is continuously creating a new idea, a new solution, a new project. She is a yoga teacher and practitioner, and has co-founded Akna Collective, an organization focused on empowerment through sustainability, connection, education and community.

Ania holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications and graphic design, and has enjoyed photography as a medium for exposure and education.
