Manchester United fans are expecting big changes at Old Trafford under new manager Ruben Amorim, when the Portuguese takes over from Ruud van Nistelrooy this week. Amorim is expected to bring his preferred 3-4-3 formation to United, along with a much more physical style of play than the squad has been accustomed to in recent years.
He will certainly want to bring in some players who suit his needs, with former United striker Louis Saha feeling 19-year-old Turkish international Arda Guler and Napoli star Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, would be quality additions to the Red Devils. He said:
“United can offer Arda Guler a lot, including more playing time than he is getting at Real Madrid at the moment. United need that kind of playmaker, that kind of freedom and it is very difficult for young players to get that at Real Madrid, especially in midfield. He can thrive at United with that opportunity.
He needs to play to fulfil his potential and maybe a loan would suit him after impressing at Euro 2024, he's a very intelligent player. United need someone who can create chances for the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund, they need someone who can make the final pass and that could be him.
If you look at the stats, United should be pursuing Victor Osimhen over Viktor Gyokeres, it's that simple. He scored in four years at Napoli and has done so since joining Galatasaray, scoring consistently.
“He’s a big character and has the confidence to succeed wherever he goes, he just wants to score goals and that’s what he does. He’s very focused and he reminds me of Erling Haaland in that sense. I think he could be the man United need.”
