The Church

At 2540 Ministries, we hold a firm conviction that the churches we plant, strengthen, or support must be able to stand on their own—rooted in Scripture, led by their own people, and sustained by the grace of God rather than external dependency. We do not form churches that cannot grow into self‑governing, self‑supporting, and self‑reproducing bodies.

We do not hire staff to manage or maintain these churches, for the church is not an organization to be operated but a people to be shepherded. Leadership must rise from within the community itself, shaped by discipleship, tested in character, and affirmed by the body.

We do not remove the local church from the neighborhoods we serve. Instead, we labor to strengthen existing congregations and plant new ones that remain deeply embedded in their community—governed by the people, shepherded by a pastor from among the people, and living joyfully under the headship of Christ.

Our conviction is simple: the healthiest churches are those that belong to their community, are led by their community, and exist for the glory of Christ in that community.

The Home

We believe the home is the most organic and faithful place for the church to gather. In the home, the body of Christ is freed from the burdens of building costs, institutional budgets, and the limitations created by travel or centralized campuses. The home returns the church to its simplest and most powerful expression—life shared around tables, Scripture opened among neighbors, and discipleship woven into the rhythms of everyday life.

We believe every neighborhood, apartment complex, and street corner holds the potential to become a gathered space for the people of God. Homes become outposts of grace where believers share resources, bear one another’s burdens, and grow together in truth. These gatherings do not exist to fund buildings, hire staff, or import outside ministers unfamiliar with the community. Instead, they exist to cultivate a church that rises from within the neighborhood itself—led by its own people, shaped by its own stories, and rooted in the soil where God has placed them.

The home is not a retreat from the church; it is the church brought back to its most accessible, relational, and mission‑ready form.

Pastors

We believe pastors are called men raised up from within the body, not professionals imported from outside through academic credentials or institutional placement. A pastor is not produced by a degree but recognized by a calling. These men are tested in their character, affirmed in their grasp of the truth, and entrusted by Christ to shepherd a particular people in a particular place.

2540 Ministries comes alongside men who desire to plant and shepherd within their own community—providing biblical training, pastoral formation, and support where needed. We do not replace the calling of Christ or the affirmation of the congregation; we simply strengthen what God has already begun. Christ calls the man; the body receives the man.

We reject the places where the Reformers stopped short of reform. We do not embrace a clergy‑centered system that sends outsiders to govern communities they do not know. Instead, we hold to congregational elder‑shepherding, where pastors rise from among the people, are affirmed by the people, and serve under the headship of Christ alone.
