Accessibility

We strive to make the Innovations in Pedagogy Summit as inclusive an event as possible. Should you require accessibility accommodations, please indicate so in the registration form. This information must be received by Wednesday, April 26. Email Iris Young at idw3m@virginia.edu with questions.

Some accessibility measures we are taking include ensuring the availability of:

• handicap entrances and parking spaces,

• easily accessible elevators,

• accessible restrooms in close proximity,

• single-stall, gender-neutral bathroom on the fourth floor,

• microphones for all presenters,

• masks on site for those who wish to wear one,

• quiet/outdoor spaces, and

• a variety of options for lunch, including vegetarian.

Furthermore, in this year's call for proposals, we asked presenters to share the ways in which their presentations would address inclusion and accessibility (e.g., awareness and acknowledgement of social and historical context; language and design choices that acknowledge/work to address power and difference; limit the amount of text on slides; inclusive color palettes for figures; large text on visuals; and use of live captioning where possible).
