This design package includes an exploded view, bill of materials, and drawings for machined parts for the right angle gearbox design.
Testing of the conical CVT resulted in underwhelming results. As seen in Milestone 5, the CVT did allow for variable output speeds, but the ratio was less than anticipated. The biggest challenge we faced was belt slippage under load. The initial performance tests performed in Milestone 5 were performed without having a dynamometer connected to the output shaft of the CVT. Once under load, the belt immediately slipped and worked itself out of tension. We tried to adjust tensioning to prevent this from happening; however, nothing could prevent belt slip. For all those reasons, we have decided this is not a viable option for the Wildcat Pulling Team to use.
