Performance Team Procedures:
Class/Rehearsal Attendance and absences information:
o It is helpful to understand that each week performance routines are drilled, refined and strengthened across the year. If your child is absent they miss this vital content. The team works as a whole to make routine enhancements and changes and without a full team cohort present it is very difficult to continue moving forward with routine developments. If your child will be away for a lengthened period of time due to a planned holiday, absence notification must be made in writing to hello@radiancedance.com in advance so that necessary adjustments to routines can be made.
o Any other absence from regular weekly Performance Team and technique classes must also be advised by text or email by the student’s parent or guardian. This includes the performance team lessons as well as the general technique lessons.
o Routine choreography is based upon formations and moving lines/patterns. We are marked upon this at an eisteddfod by the adjudicator. To master these formations, lines and patterns, students are sufficiently rehearsed to understand their role/position in the group context. Each child is given a certain position in the choreography. Absence from class/rehearsals can result in your child not being up to date on the choreography and their positioning.
o Final lessons the week of a performance/eisteddfod event:
If your child misses the final lesson/rehearsal prior to an event or eisteddfod, they may not be permitted to perform. Final rehearsals cover final routine adjustments and it is not a positive experience for a child to miss the final rehearsal and perform as this can result in anxiety. The studio director would discuss this situation with you to determine the best outcome for your child and the team.
Communication:
o All absences can be communicated to Miss Lyn on 0427 776 516.
o All general communication/questions can be sent by email (hello@radiancedance.com) or 0427 776 516.
o We are always happy to discuss and answer any questions you might have and encourage an open line of communication!
o At any time should any concerns arise or you would like further information, please get in touch to arrange a phone call with our Studio Director, Miss Bonnie. We welcome conversations to ensure our students experience is a positive, uplifting and enjoyable one throughout their time in the performance team program! Please reach out and discuss with us as, we are firm believers in problem solving and our students best interests are always at heart.
