The Mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
On September 6, 2019, at the age of two, Francesca Mayo was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Immediately following her diagnosis, Francesca's oncology team at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh devised a plan to fight and beat the cancer. Francesca's treatment lasted approximately 2.5 years, however her screenings are currently ongoing. Now, at seven years old, Francesca is a cancer survivor ready to share her story and let other cancer patients and survivors know they are not alone. Francesca is now in second grade and enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, playing with her dog Fredo, watching her favorite show "Wednesday," and dancing in her hip hop dance class!

AND SHOULD BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY FOR THEIR BLOOD CANCERS.
Introducing the Dare to Dream Project - the bigger, bolder next phase of the LLS Children's Initiative. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) recognizes kids are different and their blood cancers need to be treated differently, so we are daring to change the paradigm of treatment and care of pediatric blood cancers. Our dream is to help as many children possible to get treatment for their cancer. We've already facilitated progress by funding a first-ever pediatric AML Data Commons, a platform that ensures consistency in global data reporting, and by launching the first-ever acute leukemia LLS PedAL Master Clinical Trial, matching patients to treatment based on their cancer's unique tumor biology.
We're daring to improve the quality of life for every child with blood cancer, daring to dream of them thriving. And we're just getting started!
