The 2025 South Texas Scholastic Chess Championship offers multiple sections to accommodate players of all grade and skill levels. Please select your section based on your current grade and March 2025 US Chess rating.
PreK-1 players may choose either K-1 sections or Primary/Elementary sections.
Middle school players (grades 6-8) must compete in middle school sections unless an exception applies (e.g., K-6 private schools).
High school players (grades 9-12) have two sections available: Championship and JV based on rating.
Section changes after February 28, 2025, will incur a $10 fee.
K-1 Championship

Grades: K-3

Grades: K-3

Elementary Championship
Grades: K-5/6

Middle School Championship

Primary Sections (K-3) are for younger players.

High school players (grades 9-12) can compete in either the Championship or JV sections, based on their ratings.
