Astrobees can perform a variety of tasks, including managing ISS inventory, documenting experiments with built-in cameras, moving cargo around the station, monitoring the crew, sampling, mangaing logistics, communicating with computer systems, docking with other spacecraft, and identifying hazards and successfully dealing with them. Astrobee is also used to research and test new technologies, such as computer vision, robotic manipulation, control algorithms, and human-robot interaction. They also help test free-flying robotic technology in microgravity, which is not possible on Earth.
Some other tasks the Astrobee can do include:
Inventory: Taking inventory
Documentation: Documenting experiments with built-in cameras
Cargo: Moving cargo around the station
Crew monitoring: Monitoring the crew
Sampling: Sampling
Logistics: Managing logistics
Communication: Communicating with computer systems
Grappling: Grappling spacecraft
Hazard identification: Identifying potential hazards, such as leaks
