Competitions
Generally, competitions take place over the course of several days. Teams compete in a handful of preliminary rounds, followed by a break for the top 4 or 8 teams to single-elimination rounds.
We compete in many highly competitive invitational tournaments each year.
National All-Star Bracket Challenge

Capitol City Challenge
We also compete in two national competitions each spring.
National Trial Competition (NTC)
American Association for Justice’s Student Advocacy Competition (AAJ)
Two tryout rounds
Round 1: opening statements + a “think on your feet” exercise designed to assess your extemporaneous speaking
Round 2: reworked opening statements + cross examination
We will host information and training sessions before each round to provide competitors with the criteria that will be used to evaluate them and other expectations.
Competitors offered membership after the second round of tryouts will compete in the Greenhalgh tournament.
Generally, we will take anywhere from 16-24 new members each year.
