Georgia Junior Science & Humanities Symposium
The Georgia Junior Science & Humanities Symposium serves to support, promote, and publicly recognize our state’s brightest STEM students and their outstanding achievement in scientific research by providing participants with the unique opportunity to present their research to a panel of highly qualified judges in the format of an academic, scientific conference. Students will have the opportunity to:
improve their research and presentation skills;
network with STEM professionals and like-minded students;
earn scholarships and other awards; and
advance to the National Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (expense-paid trip)
2024 Goal: Encourage and maximize participation from underrepresented populations.
(students with at least one of the following):
Military-connected (children and other dependents of Active Duty Armed Forces, National Guard and Reserves, Veterans)
Low-income students
Racial and ethnic minority underrepresented in STEM (Alaska Natives, Native Americans, Black or African Americans, Latinx / Hispanic Americans, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders)
Females in physical science, computer science, math, or engineering
Students with disabilities
English as a second language
First generation college student
Students in Rural, Frontier, Tribal or other Federal targeted schools
