BACKGROUND & PURPOSES

#1. An all‐English speaking science symposium program (Bowei Research Conference,  BRC) is designed in Taiwan by LCY Education Foundation since mid 2017, to encourage the prestigious international scientists and regional young scientists including the young professors, post‐docs and graduate students, under a pressure‐free w/ stimulating environment, to present and exchange their research in chemistry. It can also help them building their informal networks for a lifetime of collaboration. To create an open discussion environment, each participant agrees that any information presented at this conference is not for public use.

#2. The BRC was designed based on the model of Gordon Research Conferences (GRC) of the US. After the second BRC (2020), it was then suggested that the BRC should be blended with the model of Bürgenstock Conference of Switzerland (https://bc22.scg.ch/ ) or Tateshina Conference of Japan .(https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/toc/10.1002/(ISSN)1861-471X.Tateshina20thAnniversary  )

#3. The three‐day conference program was held biannually, in 2018 (BRC-1) and 2020 (BRC-2).  The BRC has been transformed into an annual event since 2023 BRC-3https://sites.google.com/view/brc-portal/home

#4. The Bowei Research Conference had the theme of “From Chemistry to Material Design”, which is then derived to “The Magic of Chemistry” for 2023 BRC and thereafter as a permanent conference brand.

#5. Those prestigious international and domestic speakers mainly from academia, and some from industry are selected by BRC’s Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). It is estimated to have up to 120 attendees invited, mainly young scientists. All the attendees will be based on by INVITATION ONLY.
