Before joining the County, he was at the Chicago Park District for about 15 years, where he held several positions, including Director of Purchasing and Chief Administrative Officer. Before joining the Chicago Park District, he was a Contract Administrator for a department at the City of Chicago.

He has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois - Chicago School of Law.
