You will need to arrive before the Welcome Orientation on August 23. For those staying at the dormitory, you will need to arrive in time for your dormitory check-in (August 22 ~ 23, 10:00 ~ 17:00).
However, if you have valid reasons to arrive late in Korea, just remember to arrive before the semester starts as your classes will most likely be held in person. It is ultimately your responsibility to check your attendance and your professors may not allow absence due to late arrivals.
Also, as mentioned in your application guideline, we DO NOT offer our program virtually. You must be physically present in Korea before the semester starts in order to be eligible for our program.
No, unless you are symptomatic, you will be sent to the local Health Center of your accommodation’s district ( gu ) to be tested at the testing booth there.
If you arrive during their working hours, you will be tested the day you arrive. But if you arrive after working hours, you will need to visit them the next day to be tested.
No, but after you go through immigration, you MUST have a personal mobile phone number to keep in contact with your local Health Center & your ISV.
Yes. Each foreign entrant will be reported to their local Health Center, and they will call/text you:
to inform you of any important information ie. COVID-19 test results
to inform you of your quarantine period if your test results are positive
and etc.
You will be quarantined for 7-days in your own home. If your accommodation is unfit for quarantine, OIA will contact a quarantine service company and arrange a room for you.
Payments will be needed to be made once you are booked for a quarantine service. Please see here for more details on what to do when you test positive.
Depending on your nationality, the answer varies.
According to the rule of reciprocity, you may be exempt from payment, receive partial reimbursement, or have to pay the full price of the treatment when you are tested for COVID-19 upon your arrival.
You will NOT have to pay IF you are tested positive for COVID-19 DURING your stay in Korea. The above rule only applies when you first arrive.
However, if you do not oblige to quarantine rules or have broken social distancing guidelines, and other related regulations/laws, you will have to pay the full price of the treatment, regardless of your nationality or the date of the contract with COVID-19.
