Global Learning Across NCSSFL States

Significant time has passed since NCSSFL members last took stock of global learning efforts occurring across the country. Through brief case studies and rich conversation in regional groups, session participants will learn about global learning initiatives taking place around the U.S. and share the initiatives taking place within the global learning realm in their own state. An opportunity for large group share-out will be provided, and the session will end with a group brainstorming activity focused on how to better promote/advocate for initiatives like those that will be shared.

Innovation for Language Learning

This session will focus on technology, innovation, and change for language learning. Recent years and future forecasts reveal the limits of our current system for world language teaching and learning. A panel of colleagues will prompt us to think about innovation for language learning to:

• Provide access to diverse languages,

• Improve equity, diversity and inclusion,

• Prepare and support language educators,

• Progress toward equitable learning outcomes,

• Leverage partnerships for sustained learning, and

• Center learners as leaders of their own learning.

Members will engage in roundtable discussions on three of these topics to generate capacity-building goals and recommendations for NCSSFL, and our respective organizations, to lead through innovation for future-ready language learning.
