Each week, you will be invited to create something based on the concepts that will be introduced and discussed. These Good Design may take a variety of forms - short essay, simple games (digital and paper), art (painting, drawing, sculpture), video (IG, Tik Tok), music, poetry, collage, etc. - and may be presented in a variety of ways (e-mailed to me, with other students, presented in class, etc.).
However, these are invitations; each one that you do will contribute to your overall Participation Grade. As such, choosing to respond to none will affect your grade at the end of the semester. But more importantly, you should view your Good Design as seeds for other work in the course.
At the beginning of our Wednesday classes, you are invited to share a Shareable - something that interests, inspires, excites, or sparks creativity - of the concepts we discuss in the class. These might be remixes of classroom activities, your Good Design, or one another’s work. Your Shareable may also be something you work on with a peer. And all Shareable will be collected for the class to return to as our class involves.
