Dr. Fernando Lima Penn State University | Federal University of Juiz de Fora - Brazil

Chair

Postdoctoral scholar at Stuckeman Center for Design Computing – Pennsylvania State University and a currently licensed associate professor at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil. His research explores computational design, urban data analysis, and digital fabrication, with his current focus being on generative design, optimization, data science, and computational approaches for design teaching. Lima has a Ph.D. in Urbanism from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, having attended a one-year doctoral exchange period at the Faculty of Architecture - University of Lisbon, Portugal. Dr. Lima is a member of the International Executive Committee of the Ibero-American Society of Digital Graphics (SIGraDi) and a reviewer of several journals in the field of Architecture, Urbanism, and computational design.

Dr. Frederico Braida Federal University of Juiz de Fora

Frederico Braida is an architect and urbanist (UFJF, 2005); a specialist in fashion, fashion culture and art (UFJF, 2015); a specialist in teaching in higher education (FESL, 2019); master in urbanism (UFRJ, 2008); master, doctor, and postdoc in design (PUC-Rio, 2007, 2012 and 2015); postdoc in Mathematics (UTFPR, 2021). Professor of the Department of Design, Representation and Technology, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (DPRT / FAU / UFJF, since 2010). Vice-coordinator of the undergraduate course in Architecture and Urbanism (since 2020). Permanent Professor of the Graduate Program in Built Environment (PROAC / UFJF, since 2014). Permanent Professor of the Graduate Program in Management and Evaluation of Public Education (PPGP / UFJF, since 2018). Permanent Professor of the Graduate Program in Communication (PPGCOM / UFJF, since 2020). Leader of LEAUD Research Group - Laboratory of Studies of Languages and Expressions of Architecture, Urbanism and Design.

Director of the Binational Master's Degree in Open Design for Innovation (UBA - Humboldt Universität zu Berlin). Coordinator of the Design Research Laboratory (+ ID Lab). Director of the research projects “Visualization and Design of Knowledge. Analytical Taxonomies and Comprehensive Cartographies ”and“ Digital Manufacturing: Productive and Morphogenetic Processes ”. Co-Founder and Strategic Director of NextFutures. Coordinator of the Red Xenofuturism. President of SIGraDi (2017-2018).
