2020 Biophysics of Music Virtual Summer Program

Program Overview: The Biophysics of Music Virtual Summer Program is a four-week program for middle school, high school and college students, that is funded by the National Science Foundation. The goal of this project is to promote multidisciplinary learning through integrating physics, music and biology. The idea of utilizing music for learning biophysics is to provide an exciting and engaging educational experience for students, ultimately leading to a high level of enhanced knowledge. This project is the first of its kind to bridge the gap between physics and biology through music. Participants will spend two days a week with live speakers and interactive activities. Two additional days of material is provided to supplement the information covered from both the speakers and the activities. Topics of focus include: mechanics, sound, forces and electricity.
