Beth Gilikin- Smyrna Elementary School
Beth Gilikin's Students from Smyrna Elementary School used research and persuasive writing techniques to express student voice at Smyrna and Down East. Students sent a Google Survey to all students asking them what issues they felt were the most important to students. Students narrowed it down to two categories and their teacher chose a third category. Everyone voted for the one they felt was the most important and the consensus was that they would research having no more homework in school. When students were challenged to take their research out of the classroom, they created videos and presentations to send to the high school students and the school board!
Fables, Fairy Tales, Folktales, Legends, Myths, Tall Tales
