Applications For The 2025-2026 Will Open In Late Spring

To apply, you must...

• be a rising 9th-12th grader

• be a current Girl Scout under the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey (GSNNJ) or join by the start of the robotics season

No prior experience is needed!

While these sections are distinguishable, you will be expected to do activities that are within both wings. For example, those within the engineering wing will be expected to aid in social media posts and those in business may be brought in to assist with the assembly of the robot. All are expected to assist in outreach events and at competitions. 

Other Expectations: 

• Commitment to all/most meeting times and other activates. 

• Consistent effort.

• Proper teamwork, manners, and behavior at all times.

• Exemplify FIRST's Core Values.

We meet Fridays (evenings) & Saturdays (afternoon and evening), with our season stretching from September to March. Competitions and outreach events are typically on the weekends and last all day. 

Application Process:

• Applicants will complete the Application Form linked above. 

• Steel Magnolias will send an email to schedule an interview. All interviews are now virtual via Google Meets and last around 10-15 minutes.

• The interview is conducted.

• Steel Magnolias will reach out about the results of the application.
