Along with Office of Special Needs, the Air Force is committed to providing consistent, quality support to military special needs family members while striving to promote self-sufficiency and resiliency in the EFMP arena.
EFMP-FS is the community support function provided by M&FRC to enhance the quality of life of special needs family members. The EFMP-FS program provides services to more than just active duty members and their families. It is all encompassing and includes DoD military, DoD civilians, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, retirees, spouses of deployed members, contractors and personnel from other military branches of service.
More information can be found at:
Do you think your family qualifies for EFMP? Please reach out to the M&FRC! We will connect you to our EFMP-FS team at Offutt AFB. Don't miss out on information, opportunities and events that could help support your family.
Exercise your right to vote!
The Military & Family Readiness Center is the home to the Installation Voting Assistance Office. The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) protects the rights of absent service members, members of the Merchant Marines, the Public Health Service, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and their voting-age dependents regardless of where they are stationed.
The Federal Voting Assistance Program Website provides UOCAVA eligible voters a user-friendly tool to register to vote and to request an absentee ballot. Users simply click on their state of legal residence to obtain the state’s specific voting instructions and requirements. Many states now allow citizens to register to vote and to vote by absentee ballot by mail, e-mail or fax.
The www.fvap.gov web site helps voters identify their state’s deadlines for registering and submitting absentee ballots. The website also provides information for separating active duty members and military spouses. Separating service members and their families are encouraged to complete a National Voter Registration Form to register as a civilian.
Voters are encouraged to update their contact information annually via the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) available on the web site. The information provided on the FPCA helps election officials to determine whether state-specific voter registration requirements are met, which materials voters need, and where to send ballots. Voters should follow up with their election officials or the IVAO office to ensure their FPCAs are received. Contact information is listed by state and county on the Web site. The FPCA should be completed each year by January 15th.

Air Force Families Forever (AFFF) is a long-term survivor aftercare program established to provide support to family members of deceased Regular Air Force and Reserve Component Airmen who died in an Active Duty, Inactive Duty for Training (IDT), or Annual Training (AT) status and whose relationship was established prior to the Airman’s death. This includes Reg AF, Guard, and Reserve Airmen. Next of Kin (NOK): widow or widower (remarried or not), each parent (mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, mother through adoption, father through adoption, foster parents who stood in loco parentis), each child (natural, step-children, adopted), and each sibling (brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister) of an Airman.
Each active-duty installation’s M&FRC is the point-of-contact for NOK to receive long term support, including: Information and Referral, Remembrance and Connection, and Installation Access.
