Any items placed in the wrong containers are called contamination. For example, glass is not accepted in your compost container, liquids should not be placed in your recycling container, and food scraps do not belong in your garbage container. Any resultant fees will be billed the the applicable Owner (including tenants/guests of an Owner).
Recyclable items should be placed in the dumpster outside the building on Minnesota St. The combination code for the lock is: 3291. Recycling pick-up is early Tuesday morning. Owners are responsible for ensuring that the dumpster is relocked after Owner/Tenant/or Guest use and will be responsible for the cost of any lock that is misplaced. Please put recyclables in the dumpster. Recology will charge the community if they find recyclable materials in our landfill bins.
Please be considerate of your neighbors and flatten all cardboard boxes before placing them in the recycling bins. When boxes are tossed in unflattened, they take up unnecessary space, prevent others from using the bins, and often keep the lids from closing. Additionally, Recology may charge the Association extra fees whenever a recycling bin lid cannot be fully closed.
Landfill and compost bins are accessed by a door in the garage, immediately adjacent to the Minnesota St access doors. Landfill goes in the black bins while compost goes in the green bins. Landfill and compost pick-ups are on Wednesday morning.
IMPORTANT: You will need a keyfob to exit the garbage room.
We ask that you respect your neighbors if you have a large quantity of landfill or recyclable materials. Please either spread out over time placing materials in the dumpster or contact Recology or your landlord to request a special pick- up. Each unit in the building can request one bulk pick-up a year from Recology.
DO NOT OVERFILL THE BINS IN THE TRASH ROOM OR LEAVE TRASH OUTSIDE THE BINS - IF A BIN IS FULL, FIND A BIN THAT HAS FREE CAPACITY. ANY RESULTANT RECOLOGY FINES WILL BE ASSESSED TO THE RESPONSIBLE OWNER. THE BIN LIDS SHOULD ALWAYS BE COMPLETELY CLOSED.
