Reserve Cadet - Cadets who attend a school without a CA Cadet Corps program, but who participate locally and state-wide as a member of a brigade.
Reserve Cadets in the California Cadet Corps (CACC) are students who attend schools without a cadet program but participate at the battalion or brigade level. They can train, promote, receive uniforms, and attend activities. This includes students transitioning from middle school programs to high schools without CACC or home-schooled students. Commandants must document expectations for Reserve Cadets, such as attendance and uniform care. Schools must report Reserve Cadets in their strength reports. Both the host school's principal and the cadet’s assigned school principal must approve their participation.
Disclaimer: Commandants must ensure that their school's principal approves the assignment of Reserve Cadets to a cadet unit. This process must also include approval from the cadet’s assigned school principal.
