The California Cadet Corps (CACC) uniforms are issued to all cadets free of charge. Every enrolled cadet in authorized units will receive all authorized uniforms when funding permits. High school cadets are eligible to receive Class A uniforms, while other uniform types are distributed to all cadets.
If certain uniform items are unavailable through Headquarters CACC, cadets and units may purchase them independently, following established specifications for consistency. All issued uniforms must be returned at the end of each school year, or cadets may incur charges for missing items and may be held from graduating high school, unless they are attending CACC events over the summer or have received permission from their commandant to keep the uniform during that time.
General Uniform Rules
Cadets are expected to wear their uniforms properly and proudly, recognizing their role in leadership training and representation of the Cadet Corps and military traditions. Uniform wear is strictly for official activities, with designated times and events authorized by commandants.
Key uniform expectations include:
Strict adherence to military traditions, such as buttoning all buttons and removing loose strings.
Proper wear of headgear, required outdoors unless specified otherwise.
Complete uniform integrity, prohibiting civilian clothing mixed with uniform items unless authorized.
Maintaining boots and shoes, ensuring they remain clean and shined.
Jewelry restrictions, including no earrings in utility uniforms, with limits on size and type in other uniforms.
School-specific uniform variations, which may be permitted at the local level but must comply with standard CACC regulations during state-level events.
Cadets must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully, upholding military standards while in uniform. These guidelines ensure uniform consistency, discipline, and adherence to established traditions while reinforcing the importance of accountability in returning issued uniforms.
