Procedure for Classes

The class will be using The Flip the Classroom Instructional Strategy, which will require you to have the school-issued computer ready at the beginning of the course. a. Flip the Classroom Instructional Strategy b. Google Classroom is our Learning Management System Number 1: When entering the room, pick up any handout for the class that day. Move to your assigned seat.Number 2: Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings and prepare for Bell Work! (Bell Work is a short assignment that is completed at the start of our class) Number 3: Conduct yourself in a manner that promotes learning (do nothing which interferes with class). no sleeping, no personal grooming, gaming, etc Number 4: The class will be using The Flip the Classroom Instructional Strategy Number 5: Turn your phone off, remove headphones and place it in its secure place for extra credit (Alcatraz Federal Cellatiary) (Opal Rule)Number 6: Get last night's assignment out for in-class use and sharpen writing tools. Remain in your seat and start on bell work a. Cornell Notes, google keep, worksheets, or rubrics Number 7: Snapping your fingers is the appropriate sign of approval.Number 8. If you complete the day's assignments, you should do the followinga. Organize your folder. b. Review the past lessons.

Expectations

· You should do your homework or other class preparation.

· You must do well on tests, this will require studying

· You should take the online quiz, they are questions that will be on the end of the semester exams

· I don’t do Study Guides, that’s why we take notes.

· You will be polite and a responsible member of our class and school; to be considered polite; you MUST do the following behaviors.

a. greet each other when entering the class.

b. use words like please and thank you when asking to do things

c. do not have earbuds or another personal listening device during active work time.

d. being able to discuss topics in class with an answer that can be heard.

Lose the phone. If it is seen I will take it for the remained of the school day (Opel Rule)

1. Strive to be a leader of character, competence, and courage.

2. Lead from the front. Say, “Follow me!” and then lead the way.

3. Stay in top physical shape–physical stamina is the root of mental toughness.

4. Develop your team. If you know your people, are fair in setting realistic goals and expectations, and lead by example, you will develop teamwork.

5. Delegate responsibility to your subordinates and let them do their job. You can’t do a good job if you don’t have a chance to use your imagination and creativity.

6. Anticipate problems and prepare to overcome obstacles. Don’t wait until you get to the top of the ridge and then make up your mind.

7. Remain humble. Don’t worry about who receives the credit. Never let power or authority go to your head.

8. Take a moment of self-reflection. Look at yourself in the mirror every night and ask yourself if you did your best.

9. True satisfaction comes from getting the job done. They key to a successful leader is to earn respect–not because of rank or position, but because you are a leader of character.

10. Hang Tough!–Never, ever, give up.
