For my mentor text I chose “where the sidewalk ends” poem from shel silverstein which was my favorite poem as a child and like i said earlier now that i'm older circling back to it im able to understand better and relate to what he is saying. For me I feel like the poem ties into where we are, stuck on the sidewalk dealing with the horror like inequality, and should step off at the end of the sidewalk to free ourselves and have the same love and compassion for life and people like we did as children. I also understood better how i can add personification into my compositions.
