Influence

My big, Abby Emerick, influenced me to dive deeper into this issue within social work because not only did she introduce me tointo the social work field, she also told me about her work environment and how this is an issue we should talk about. My professor for women and gender studies, second semester of sophomore year, also influenced me to be consciously aware of all types of unfairness in our society between women and men. Professor Navarro also taught us to be open minded of the issues within social work and have hope that things will change eventually but to also stand up and be the change we want to see not just for the people we help but for ourselves and fellow colleagues.
