Built circa 1890 ...
Located at 1015 Rose Avenue, Pleasanton, CA ... Folk Victorian cottage with Queen Anne influence
Possibly built by Charles Bruce, known for building Folk Victorians (Queen Anne style) in Pleasanton during the 1890s.
Located next to the Pleasanton (Alameda County) Fairgrounds and Race Track... The Race Track built in 1859 is the oldest one mile horse racing track in the country, also the training home to Seabiscuit in 1936.
Located on Nolan Farms (Thoroughbred Breeding and Training) developed in the 1960s and housed farm hands & horse trainers until most of the surrounding property was sold to developers in 2000.
*Note: Have met some of the folks who lived in the home through the years... "NeNe" who is still the housekeeper for Bea Nolan (next door- original owner of Nolan Farms) lived in the home from 1980-2000. Charles Cutchen was a horse trainer on Dandy Bar Ranch in the 1950s and lived in the home with several other trainers. Dandy Bar Ranch was a Quarterhorse training and breeding ranch (home of Dandy Bar, a rather accomplished Quarterhorse in the 1950s-60s). Lawrence Kidd a horseman and ranch owner from Idaho also was known to have lived here..
