Here, we will introduce the new features included in version 5.0, a major update to 100VJ.

Channel

Channel is an asset player newly installed in ver.5.0.

A channel has one player, multiple post-processing channels, colorize and transform filters, and a blend mixer.

Channels can be dragged and dropped (D&D) and selected by tapping on the live preview. You can lift it by pushing it and start a D&D session.

Channel columns (arrays) are reorderable and are done in D&D. Deletion is done from the mini menu (trash can icon) for each channel.

The iPad UI also allows you to move to other channel arrays.

The channel passes the output from the player (or passes through the output from underlying layers if nothing is set on the player ) through the post-processing channel in order to render the channel's own content.

Colorize filters and transforms are applied to the rendered result, and then the output of the underlying layer is blended according to the set blend function (addition, multiplication, overlay, chroma key, etc.) to create the final result of the channel itself. Output the rendering results.

Colorize

There is a cloud and rainbow mark on the top menu of the channel controller.

Tap this to display the colorize view, where you can make detailed color settings.

(HSL multiplication color, contrast, hue rotation, final multiplication)

transform

There is a box-shaped button next to the colorize menu button.

Tap this to display the transform view.

You can set scale, rotation, and translation. You can also do this by pinching, panning, and rotating the preview.

The preview frame does not support 3D rotation and Z-axis movement.

clear context

The X button at the top right of the top menu allows you to set whether to clear the buffer before processing the channel.

Launcher

The launcher is a hangar where you can save your channels.

Drag and drop your channel preview and save. You can load it to the selected channel by tapping it.

Drag and drop the preview of the main deck "A, B" channel to save that channel.

The clipboard mark button will copy the channel to the D&D cell at the bottom of the asset launcher.

D&D cells can also be dragged and dropped.

The launcher is made up of pages, and you can switch pages by swiping left or right. You can add pages by pressing the plus button and delete them from the menu button at the bottom.

You can edit the page title and the title of each asset by tapping.

The launcher is synced to your iCloud account and will share the same with other devices logged into the same iCloud account.

Core image filter

Added collection of core image filters.

Add from the top menu of the channel controller or the Add Effect+ button. If you transition from the top menu, it will be loaded to the selected channel.

Effect collection has been changed to real-time preview. Swipe the page left or right to switch between the 100VJ filter and the Core Image filter.

All of the core image filter parameters can be animated, as explained in the next section.

Animable slider

Animable slider (abbreviated as AS) is also one of the big updates in v5.0.

All previous effect sliders have been replaced with AS, and can be automated with LFO, AUDIO, MOTION, etc., and can also be controlled with MIDI and keyboard input.

Display the config view from the wrench mark on the right side of AS. Tap the label to the left of AS to display the menu, which can also be viewed from there.

LFO

Automate with several waveform types and paces. You can change the size of the animation by setting the amplifier and range.

Audio

Get the value from mic-in etc. Range and amp are same as above.

Motion

Get the value from the acceleration sensor. Range, amplifier same as above

MIDI/Keyboard input

Save the received channel in learning mode and delete it from the menu.
