Why We Teach?
Vidya Poshak is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SSV School – Sadguru School of Vision, Sagar, marking an important step towards strengthening educational opportunities and creating meaningful learning experiences for students and teachers.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving the quality of education through teacher capacity building, innovative teaching practices, experiential learning, technology integration, and holistic student development. Through this collaboration, Vidya Poshak and SSV School aim to work together to create an enabling learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, question, innovate, and develop the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
Teachers are the driving force behind every child's learning journey. They play a critical role not only in shaping students' academic knowledge but also in nurturing their curiosity, confidence, creativity, values, and aspirations. A skilled and motivated teacher has the power to transform a classroom into a space where children feel safe, valued, encouraged, and inspired to learn.
At Vidya Poshak, we believe that investing in teachers is one of the most effective and sustainable ways to improve student learning outcomes. When teachers are equipped with the right knowledge, pedagogical skills, resources, and continuous support, they are better positioned to respond to diverse learning needs and create meaningful learning experiences for every child.
The Vidya Poshak Teacher Excellence Program (VPTEP) is designed as a comprehensive teacher development initiative that focuses on strengthening teachers' knowledge, classroom practices, professional skills, digital competencies, and mindset. The program goes beyond one-time training by creating a continuous cycle of learning, practice, reflection, feedback, collaboration, and improvement.
Through teacher capacity-building workshops, innovative teaching strategies, inclusive education practices, assessment and feedback approaches, and the integration of AI and digital tools, VPTEP supports teachers in becoming confident, reflective, and innovative educators.
The Teacher Capacity Building and Professional Development Program is designed to strengthen teachers' pedagogical knowledge, classroom practices, and professional skills through continuous training, experiential learning, mentoring, collaboration, and reflection. The program aims to support teachers in creating engaging, inclusive, child-centred classrooms where every learner has the opportunity to participate, learn, and grow.
The program combines workshops, classroom observations, mentoring, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), innovative teaching strategies, inclusive education practices, assessment methods, and AI-enabled digital tools. Through regular follow-up and quarterly action planning, teachers are supported to apply their learning directly in the classroom and continuously improve their teaching practices.
WHY WE TEACH?
The "Why We Teach" two-day workshop is designed to help teachers reconnect with the deeper purpose of teaching and reflect on the influence they have on the lives and futures of their students. Teaching is not only about completing the syllabus or delivering academic content; it is about inspiring curiosity, building confidence, nurturing values, developing skills, and creating opportunities for every child to learn and grow.
The workshop provides teachers with a reflective and experiential space to explore their personal motivation for choosing the teaching profession, understand the responsibilities and possibilities that come with being an educator, and recognise the long-term impact of their work on students, families, and communities.
Through self-reflection activities, storytelling, group discussions, case studies, role plays, collaborative activities, classroom scenarios, and experiential learning, teachers will explore questions such as: Why did I choose to become a teacher? What kind of teacher do I want to be? What do my students need from me? How can my teaching change a child's future?
