Dear students,
After the GPE project course, you will be able to start finding potential advisors and topics . Therefore, I would like to send you the GPE Guideline Master thesis (note: Page 28 in the file is the list of main and second supervisors). Kindly read it carefully.
You have three months counted from the registered abstract to complete the thesis. You can request to extend the deadline two times, a maximum of one-month extension per time. The requested form has to be submitted to the GPE office 10 days before the deadline in advance.
Students doing thesis in VN or in Germany apply the same guideline, abstract, registration form, extension form.
Concerning the topics for your thesis you can:
- either suggest a topic to a lecturer from VGU, TU Berlin, which you consider most suitable for the topic,
- or ask a lecturer from VGU, TU Berlin from the field in which you want to conduct your thesis for a topic,
- or find yourself a topic in the industry from a company (and an academic supervisor from VGU, TU Berlin).
If you have any problem with finding a potential advisor and topic, you can contact the coordinator for suggestions.

Extension Form
Master Theis will last for 3 months starting from_and finishing on_. It is expected that you submit your Master Thesis punctually. If the final thesis is not submittedin time, it is regarded as "Failed".
In case you can not meet the deadline, you can extend 2 times, 1 month for each time and 10 days registration before deadline.

Fail the Thesis
Fail the Thesis
You have a year from the date you fail the first thesis to register and complete the second one.
Please note that:
"The master thesis can be failed only once, and repetition is only allowed for a second, completely new topic. "
"Upon failure of the Master Thesis, the candidate has the opportunity to re-register in order to repeat his thesis until the end of a period of one year from the day on which he failed his first attempt at the latest."
For example, a student failed the first time on March 04, 2022. He should register and complete the second one before March 04, 2023. Otherwise, his study at GPEM won't be completed, and he must leave the program.
If you have any difficulties in finding a potential advisor, do not hesitate to contact the coordinator.
IMPORTANCE: Students who failed Thesis the second time would be terminted from TUB. No more chance to repeat the master thesis or get a re-registration to TU Berlin to finish GPE study program.
The student status fee will be charged from the fifth semester. The finance department will email you when they need to collect the fee. Therefore do not worry about how to contact them, you will receive the notification email from them at the right time.

GRADUATION
VGU organize the graduation ceremony once a year in November every year. Graduates can pick Certificates twice a year, in November or April/May.
To join the ceremony in November or pick certificate in April/ May, the certificate should be issued 2 months in advance. (September or February)
