Internship
( 12 ECTS )
( 12 ECTS )
Students can also register to do an internship at GPE labs (But there is no salary or stipend for these positions).
We allow the students to start to cumulating the internship time from semester 2. Or they can do the intensive internship during 9 consecutive weeks in semester 3.
Internship report includes: Internship report + Evaluation + Certificate
Submit your internship report (both hard and soft copies) and have to get a pass-grade (from the co-ordinator, Dr. Said Zahedani) before you can register your thesis topic. So kindly submit it soon if you have a plan to do a thesis.
The minimum duration of the internship is 9 weeks, but you can offer a longer period upon agreement with the student.
Remember to staple or bind your papers securely.
1. Internship/working certificate:
- If you are working while you study at the GPE program, you will need to submit a working certificate from your company that clearly states your working time and working fields. It can be a full-time or part-time job in the industry, but the total cumulative time has to be equivalent to 9 weeks of full-time work. There are no limitations for the maximum duration of working time. The certificate has to have the seal of the company.
- If you are not working while you study at the GPE program, you must submit a working certificate from your company that clearly states your internship time and working fields. We require a full-time internship of at least four weeks but not longer than four months (usually, the idea for an internship should be nine weeks - full-time). The certificate has to have the seal of the company.
(template is available from Ms/ Tuu's link).
Note that, Students can maximum receive 12 credit points for the internship. One credit point is equivalent to 30 hours working at the company. Therefore, students have to prove that their working time is a total of 360h at least (8 weeks if they work full-time 6 days/week or 9 weeks if they work full-time 5 days/week).
2. Internship report: read the "Composition" part in the GPEM internship guideline:
- Report length: No limitation (the average report length of the previous intakes is 30 pages)
- Weekly reports about your activities (per week 1⁄2 of a page -excluding pictures): If you have to do weekly reports during the internship/working time, you should include them in the report, but the length should not be more the 1⁄2 of a page per report per week.
- Content of the internship report: The students should describe the training content at the company and how they apply the knowledge they gain from GPE in reality. They should deepen the selected study contents depending on the intended qualification profile (which GPE module is helpful for you in the practical training and how you deepen it?).
For working students, the report is the same requirement. The only difference is: instead of writing about the practical training during an internship, you can describe a project or a period of working time in that you apply the knowledge you learn from the GPE program to your working tasks.
Note that: an evaluation for an internship or Working is a required reference for the program to evaluate your report content. No template exists because each company has different evaluation requirements for specific tasks. Therefore, you should prepare it yourselves based on the company template.
Students prepare by yourself, collect the signature and stamp from your Intern companies.
If you are working in production or Engineering fields, the title can be WORK CERTIFICATE. The company has to confirm the 9 weeks of full working time.
Students prepare by yourself, collect the signature from your Intern companies.
