Mrs. Charity Jones graduated from Birmingham Southern College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education. She did her student teaching at VHHS in 2004 & also was a maternity leave sub for a semester. During that time she went with the Varsity Rebelettes to Nationals where they placed 5th in the nation.
Mrs. Jones is beginning her 19th year of teaching dance in a public system. She began her career as the dance director & Varsity dance team coach at Hoover High School in the fall of 2007. In August of 2017, she began teaching at VHHS as the Introduction to Dance 1 instructor, working with mostly Freshman & Sophomore students as well as coaching the JV Rebelettes. When the Freshman campus opened in 2020, Mrs. Jones split her time teaching on both campuses. In the fall 2022, she became the Varsity Rebelette coach & in the fall of 2023 she will begin teaching only on the VHHS Main Campus.
Lindsay Troha brings over two decades of expertise in dance education. Starting her teaching journey in high-school, she choreographed and instructed for the competitive dance team at Alapharetta Dance Theater in Georgia. After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Alabama in 2008, Lindsay performed for Norwegian Cruise Lines and later Red Mountain Theatre Company. For the past eight years, she has been an adjunct professor of dance at Samford University, where she has cultivated the next generation of dancers. In addition to her teaching, Lindsay has a rich background in choreography, having choreographed nearly 20 full-length musical productions and numerous dance pieces for Samford Dance Company & Vibe Performing Arts. She is SO excited to start her journey with VHHS Freshman Campus and feels incredibly blessed to now be a part of the Rebel family!
