The Best Student Award is given to a student with multifaceted achievements, in terms of Academic Excellence, Co-curricular Accomplishments, Leadership Qualities, Exemplary Behaviour and Discipline.
It has been constituted in the college to facilitate recruitment of students. The Cell helps students plan their career and facilitates their placement in companies such as WIPRO, ICICI, MBT, Lehman Bros, Deutsche Bank, APEX Pharma , Hexaware, TCS, JP Morgan, Infosys, Reliance Communication, Syntel Technologies & Cadila Pharmaceuticals.
To recognize, honour and motivate students, the College confers Academic Proficiency awards and a Best Student award every year. Besides the special Shri Shyamlal Damani Award is given to physically challenged students who excel in academics. The VES Society also recognizes students who excel in academics while experiencing challenging personal situations through the VESLARC Shreshthta award.
The college has introduced a unique mentoring system known as Student Connect to guide the students through the ups and downs of their life. Every student is allotted a mentor who interacts personally with the student and provides timely guidance on academic as well as emotional issues. This process helps the students to identify and work on their career goals.
Over the years, our alumni have been extending their support to the college in various ways ranging from career guidance talks and campus placements, to guiding the students in sports, cultural activities, organizing treks, serving as judges for various college competitions and assisting in many other department and college activities. The Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Arts, Science and Commerce Alumni Association (VESASCAA) was formally registered in May 2017.
The College has introduced a free yoga class that is open to both students and teachers as a measure to improve their physical and mental well-being.
The WDC is set up as per the guidelines of the University of Mumbai to look into the complaints of sexual harassment, if any, lodged by students or staff. The WDC in our college focuses on prevention of gender-related crimes and gender sensitization through various empowerment programmes implemented for girl students. It offers them legal literacy, self-defense skills, basic knowledge about physiology and hygiene as well as stress management skills.
The college has introduced a Value Lab to inculcate and strengthen moral values in the students. A particular value is selected every month and is imparted to the students through quotes, etc
