No lectures are conducted during the 'Forum time', which is devoted entirely to cocurricular and extracurricular activities.
Over the last 5 years, our students have achieved positions at various levels - 1 international, 7 National, 9 State, 6 District, 2 inter-university and 115 University level prizes.
Sports is seen as an integral part of education. The college encourages both sports and sportsmanship. Through the Sports Department, we provide facilities and opportunities to young students for enhancement of their athletic skills and fitness. Annual Sports Day is conducted every year during the month of NovemberDecember.
The Cultural Forum of the college organizes events and competitions throughout the year. The college has made provision for a weekly one hour time slot called ‘Forum Time’ in the timetable to organize cultural events and competitions for the students. The activities are conducted under 3 heads: Literary, Fine Arts and Performing Arts.
Talentia is the most awaited Annual Cultural Festival of the College. This is the occasion during which students exhibit their talents in a variety of cultural events that fall under the categories of Performing Arts, Fine Arts and Literary Arts. The Annual Day celebrations at VES are rich in meaning and spirit. The day is hosted with a lot of fervor and showcases the inherent creative talents of the teacher and the taught.
The Marathi Vangmaya Mandal is a platform that promotes the beauty and richness of the Marathi culture through dance, drama and songs.
Our College is a Sindhi minority institution and hence promotes Sindhi language and culture through cultural activities and courses (Certificate Course, Diploma course and Advanced Diploma course). It is mandatory for the Sindhi quota students to enrol in the Sindhi Association.
There is a well-equipped Music Room where interested students and staff are provided with training in Hindustani Classical Music for music examinations (if interested) or for University’s Youth Festival. This training is free of charge. Enrolled students are more disciplined and focused in all aspects of their life.
The Nature Club is a club of nature lovers amongst teachers and students. The Nature Club organizes adventurous trips, student engagement activities etc. for the students under the guidance of the teaching staff to develop self-confidence, interpersonal skills, team spirit, ability to manage difficult situations and most of all, to learn to appreciate, respect and value nature. Apart from this, every year, on 26th January and 15th August, trekking enthusiasts among the students and staff undertake treks to various nature spots to hoist India’s flag.
Several literary competitions are conducted as a part of the Forum and Departmental Association activities. The Library organizes a Book Review Competition every year to inculcate the reading habit among students and to help enhance the thinking, analyzing and summarizing capacities of students. The college also brings out several publications to enhance and showcase the literary talents of the students. Students are actively involved in editing and designing the college magazine Vivek, besides contributing their articles to be published. Other publications of the college include Goonj (BAMMC) and That’s IT (IT dept).
