Learning is not the product of teaching. Learning is the product of the activity of Learners - John Holt
The Microbiology Students Association (MSA) under the umbrella of Microbiology-Biotechnology Association conducts a variety of programs for the students. Activities include subject-based competitions (poster-making, model making, debates, seminar presentations and essay writing), movie screenings, guest lectures by scientists, career related seminars etc. Such co-curricular activities help to create interest in students for their subject domains and provide a enriching and fresh perspective. It also helps in development of soft skills and hone their organizational capabilities. Prizes are awarded to students who excel in academics and such co-curricular activities. The freshers are welcomed every year with a humorous skit based on Microbiology. Education Visit to research institutes and industries are conducted for the S.Y.B.Sc., T.Y.B.Sc and M.Sc. students. A active student committee elected by the students overlooks the activities of the association with support of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department.
To guide the 2020-21 T.Y.B.Sc. students, the alumni from Microbiology and Biotechnology Departments pursuing their post graduation in varied fields from Institutes across India and abroad were invited to highlight their experiences and guide students with the process of admissions and entrance exam preparations.
