Excel REquirements & Tutorials

A prerequisite of the program is proficiency in Excel at an intermediate level. You should be able to create and manipulate Pivot Tables. If you are not at this level, there are numerous tutorials available.

LinkedIn Learning provides thousands of online tutorials on a wide range of subjects. They are all available to you free of charge once you have obtained your VCU eID.

No prior knowledge of other software is required. However, if you want a head start, we recommend you begin with a programming foundations course if needed. We will also be covering: SQL, Databases, JMP, Python, R, and Tableau in the first year.
