Our officer team consists of 12 positions who all work together with the advisors to plan FFA events throughout the year. Members can apply to be an officer during their freshman year and up.
Camden Voland
"Stationed by the Rising Sun"
Camden is a senior going into his fifth year of AG who is involved in showing Market lambs as well as show rabbits at the county fair, as well as at the State Fair. He has done many CDEs, one being the team of Parliamentary Procedure that made it to the State Level twice.
Camden is in charge along with Brookanne in overseeing officer duties and planning officer trips and meetings. He leads our FFA Chapter meetings.
Brookanne Busch
"Stationed by the Plow"
Brookanne is a Senior; this will be her fifth year in FFA. She is also involved with Van Buren Girls Soccer, Show Choir, Gliding Stars, and Challenged Champions. She was on the state-qualifying Parli Pro team in her first and second year of FFA.
Brookanne is in charge along with Camden in overseeing officer duties and planning officer trips and meetings.
Lydia Ponn
"Here by the Owl"
Lydia is a Junior who is involved in many activities, including Volleyball, Basketball, Track, HYL, Student Council, and serving as an FFA Officer. This is her fourth year in AG. She has done many CDEs, one being Job Interview, for which she has made it to the District level 2 years in a row!
Lydia is in charge of the CDE side of FFA along with keeping up with students and their track for their state degrees.
Ivy Wilhelm
"Stationed by the Flag"
Ivy is in her sophomore year of high school and is currently going into her second year of FFA. As well as that, she is also involved in golf. She has participated in the AG sales CDE as well as equine judging.
Ivy has the hefty job of writing articles in the Knightly News newspaper about FFA along with keeping track of a Reporters book! (Yearbook but for FFA chapters)
Peyton Griffin
"Stationed by the Ear of Corn"
Peyton is a Junior, this will be her fourth year in FFA. She is also involved with Van Buren Girls Soccer, Show Choir, Gliding Stars, and Challenged champions. She was on the state-qualifying Parli Pro team in her first and second year of FFA.
Peyton's role is to record the minutes of each chapter meeting, send out FFA emails to students, and keep track of the FFA calendar. She also sends out our thank you notes and other correspondence!
Mia Leatherman
"Stationed by the Emblem of Washington"
Mia is a Senior going into their second year as FFA Treasurer, they are involved in showing woodworking projects at the county fair, Choir, Marching Band, VB Swim, Health Occupational Students of America, and many more. They have made it to state in Soils, and Floriculture.
Mia keeps a record of FFA transactions, deposits, and donations that go through and fills out a treasurer's book with her logs.
Tyler Price
"Stationed by the Door"
Tyler is a senior who is going into his fourth year in the FFA. He is also a member of the Show Choir, Student Council, and a varsity cheerleader, and attends Millstream for Media Productions and visual design
Tyler is in charge of the FFAs inventory of tools and official dress along with labeling and organizing the classroom, shop, and loft. He also picks the themes and food for our FFA meetings!
Lorelai Holt
“Here with the Animals”
Lorelai is a sophomore; this will be her second year in FFA. She also participates in Track, Show Choir, Student Council, and shows rabbits. Lorelai has gone to state for agronomy, and participates in other CDEs like public speaking.
Lorelai's role is to take care of all the FFA animals. She makes sign-up sheets for people to take them home over long breaks and keeps up with students' animal fair projects and much more.
Josalyn Swaisgood
“Here with the Animals”
Josalyn is a senior; this will be her third year in FFA. She is involved in Soccer, Wrestling, Marching Band, and shows goats. Josalyn has competed and made it to state in both Animal Management and Vet Science.
Josalyn's role is to take care of all the FFA animals. She makes sign-up sheets for people to take them home over long breaks and keeps up with students' animal fair projects and much more.
Emily Walter
“Here with the Community.”
Emily is a sophomore who is involved with our Golf Team. This will be her third year in FFA. She has competed in many CDEs, one of which was Food Science, where she had a blast hanging out with her peers to compete and try to win.
Emily, along with Rachel are in charge of the FFA's Community Garden, along with Apple Butter Fest in the Fall, and our trash pick-up volunteer days in the spring.
Rachel Betts
“Here with the Community.”
Rachel is a Sophomore who is involved in many FFA CDEs, including soil judging, wildlife management, and outdoor power. She is also involved in band.
Rachel is partnered with Emily on their responsibility of the FFA's Community Garden, along with Apple Butter Fest in the Fall, and our trash pick-up volunteer days in the spring.
Our advisors assist the chapter in many different ways. From running the classroom to helping plan FFA events they are an essential part of our organization.
Mrs. Miller is in her 2nd year of teaching at Van Buren. She loves animals, playing games, and the great outdoors! She primarily teaches AFNR, Animal and Plant Science, Vet Science and Mechanics. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Mrs. C is in her 3rd year of teaching at Van Buren and 7th year teaching overall. She is a 2013 grad of Van Buren High School is proud to be back in the district. She loves getting to know the students and watching them try new opportunities. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family.
