The Transformational Learning Lead Teachers (TLLTs) were established in 2017-2018 at each elementary school site. Each site identified one TLLT per grade level who is charged with developing exemplars of integrating personalized learning, performance-based assessment, and the 5Cs into the classroom learning experience. Specific areas of development include:

• Defining what Deeper Learning looks like in their classroom and how to integrate across content areas

• Defining the 5Cs and identified where they live in the curriculum and how to use the 5Cs stockpile

• Engaging in performance tasks from the curriculum and how they highlight the 5Cs as well as integrate the content areas

• Curating student work from a performance tasks with the purpose of calibrating the work samples

• Curating video of students using the 5Cs and calibrate

In addition, the TLLTs are leading the elementary implementation of a signature experience which is the empowerment of students to extend their learning and engage in the dispositions outlined in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools Graduate Profile.
