Did you participate in the “ODS Newspaper Poll?” If so, here are the results presented in a unique poetry format:
Opinions are opinions.
Thoughts are thoughts.
Feelings are feelings.
Interests are interests.
The students of ODS have all of these,
but what are they?
First off, we have the different types of pencils,
essential for education.
34 people like mechanical,
11 like normal,
But is this based on how they are handled?
Mechanical pencils break so easily,
like those plastic toys at the dollar tree.
But they can have special grippies
that give your fingers a bed, so they don’t cripple under the pressure of the work that they do.
The basic yellow pencils must be painful,
their hard wooden surface that you have to push against the table, your desk, your workspace.
Anyone else still have that bump on their finger?
The one from elementary when they tried to teach you cursive?
Don’t worry, I have also given up hope that it will go away.
Ok, next set of results, we don’t want to get carried away.
Favorite colors, oh there are many results for this one.
Here we go.
14 for green,
12 for blue,
5 for purple,
4 for pink
3 for black
and 2 for brown, white, orange, and red.
Then there’s the lonely yellow with 1 person.
I thought yellow was the happy color?
Well, good for the person who said yellow, hopefully you can spread your happiness throughout the school.
Shine over everyone like the bright yellow sun!
Well, at least some people think the color green is fun.
That nice color of nature.
We do need that appreciation
and demonstration
of conservation
to our planet,
the lovely Earth!
Ok, ok, next question.
“Do you have a pet?”
It looks like many people do.
One person said that they have a golden retriever that likes bubbles!
How cute!
Someone else said that, my goodness, that they have 12 PETS!
How do you handle so many lives
and still get time to rest?
And now for the best answer of them all,
they said,“jhjkhdjkagjskhgjkshadjkgnuierhgnuojvdfhsnghjkggsjgsvcxnvnfdkkjds!”
Thanks for sharing this cool fact about your pet!
And now,
the big,
big,
big,
controversy,
that gets brought up at every beginning
of the new school year.
What color folder do the students at ODS think that their subjects are?
Ok, results say,
that math should be red…and math should be blue?
Confusing, but let's look at some more.
Social studies should be orange…and social studies should be yellow?
My goodness, we have started a war.
At least we have science, which won the vote of being green,
by a significantly larger score.
Now for the extracurricular activities,
many people do these.
It seems like the ODS students like clubs the most!
Others like sports (let's hope they don’t boast),
and instruments seem to have a popular place
because they win the race against art, theater,...and roller skates?
Next, we have a nature-based question.
"Do the students of ODS like it when it rains at school?"
Well, it seems like each choice has its own part
in a perfectly symmetrical pie chart!
Very close numbers we have
between the answers of “yes,” “no,” and “sometimes.”
I could go on and on about the results,
but I shouldn’t bore you with all of the quotes
of responses.
Instead, you should go find out yourself -
Go talk,
Go question,
Go take a vote.
Find out what your classmates like.
Learn some new things.
And be sure to check out,
the rest of the things
that this newspaper brings
to our school
this spring.
