Stress impacts us as adults, and it also impacts our students. While we often have coping strategies as adults, our students need to be taught strategies to deal with the stress they feel. Stress management is part of the Self Management Competency in our Social Emotional Learning Framework. In this course, you will synthesize research related to stress in children, identify and recognize the causes of student acute and chronic stress with symptoms related to stress, utilize strategies that can be used in the classroom to empower students to relieve and overcome stress, and practice self-care in recognizing and practicing self-management of your own stress.

Interactive Learning Structures ~ One of the guiding principles of Responsive Classroom is that great cognitive growth occurs through social interaction. In this self-paced course, you will explore multiple Interactive Learning Structures that engage students in the purposeful exchange of ideas, information, and opinions, increase equitable opportunities for student voice, and support collaboration with other learners.
Curiosity can pave the way to create a structured, student-centered environment that allows for openness and surprise, and where inquiry guides authentic learning.
