Important Reminders for 2024-25
As part of the VBCPS High School Redesign initiative to empower future ready learners, VBCPS enters Year 3 of the flexible scheduling model. As we continue to improve the flexible schedule, here are some important reminders for Kellam HS:
Academic Course Planning - Parents and students should give careful consideration to planning their high school academic course. The blank form linked in the ACP link could be used for valuable planning discussion with parents, guardians, and counselors as we prepare for student's post secondary goals (enlist, enroll, or employ). Please open the google doc and make a copy for an editable option.
THIS LINK OF COURSES can be used to see which credits can be used to fulfill which requirements.
Deadlines - To ensure we make staffing and scheduling decisions based on the needs of our students, and to maximize the learning environment for all students, all related policies and deadlines will be strictly enforced. Pay particular attention to the March 15 final deadline for all course request change requests and related paperwork including:
AP Commitment Form (Please note: Students must remain in the AP course for the entire first nine weeks.)
Application for Waiver of Full-Day Enrollment (must be completed if requesting an excused block)
Course Request Change Form (available March 18 - May 30)
Dual Enrollment (see your counselor)
