I also have my own family. I am married to an adventurous man (I call him Boo) and have 2 children (Kyle and Jaclyn) who recently graduated college and are pursuing their dreams. My daughter just started her 3rd (and final) year in Wilmington, NC and I was able to help her set up her 3rd apartment and spend a couple of days together over Labor Day Weekend. My son lives locally and works as an Mechanical Engineer. He has continued to expand his garden this year and I had the pleasure of enjoying many meals from garden to table. I was able to visit my parents and siblings at my parent's Lake House in the Adirondacks (Great Sacandaga Lake). My grandfather purchased the property when I was 3 and I have had the pleasure of visiting every summer. Upstate NY is a magical place with so many wonderful memories. I am thankful for all of the time spent with all of my family and friends this summer. Savor that time with "your people."
My husband and I purchased a farm in Louisa County (New Year's Eve 2020). We don't have animals, YET, but we will someday. The fruit trees flourished this year again and we planted a few more. My husband blazed another path to the creek. He is making a road down another part of it to build metal storage buildings. I didn't get to spend as much time there this summer (we were jipped this year with vacation), but the time I spent was definitely good for my soul. Lake Anna is nearby, so we had fun at the Lake. The "kids" brought some friends as well to wake board and play volleyball on the sandbar. I tried to savor as much of summer as I could, but it still flew by in the blink of an eye.
