Workshops and Activities

I actively contribute to academic, environmental, research, and student-development activities through workshops, field-based learning, awareness programmes, training sessions, and community engagement initiatives. These activities are designed to strengthen practical knowledge, promote environmental responsibility, and encourage collaboration among students, academics, professionals, schools, and local communities. 

Areas of Engagement

• Environmental Awareness and Conservation Programmes
  Organisation and participation in programmes related to biodiversity conservation, marine and coastal ecosystems, pollution prevention, waste management, climate change, and sustainable development

• Field-Based Learning Activities
  Coordination of ecological field visits, biodiversity assessments, habitat observations, environmental sampling, and practical conservation activities for undergraduate students.

• Research and Scientific Training
  Guidance and training in research design, field-data collection, laboratory analysis, scientific writing, data interpretation, conference preparation, and research presentation.

• Student Development Activities
  Participation in seminars, academic mentoring sessions, competitions, group activities, student well-being initiatives, and programmes that promote leadership, teamwork, communication, and professional development.

• Community and School Outreach
  Engagement with schools, government institutions, environmental organisations, and local communities through awareness programmes, conservation campaigns, environmental competitions, and educational activities.

• Event Coordination
  Contribution to the organisation of conferences, environmental celebrations, guest lectures, workshops, exhibitions, academic programmes, and university-level outreach events.

• Stakeholder Participation – Regional level consultation workshop for the development of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) for the period of 2026–2030 organized by the Ministry of Environment

• Stakeholder Participation - to support the preparation of Sri Lanka’s 7th National Report (7th NR) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), organized by the Ministry of Environment

• Participated in Focus Group Discussion organized by the Halo Trust, in relation to the Conservation of Mangrove restoration in Northern Province of Sri Lanka - 2026 March
