Thanabalasingam Keerthanaram Lecturer (Prob.) in Environmental Science University of Vavuniya
Thanabalasingam Keerthanaram is an Environmental Science graduate with research interests in coastal and marine ecosystems, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable environmental management. His work focuses on seagrass ecology, dugong conservation, and coastal biodiversity assessment, particularly in Northern Sri Lanka, integrating ecological research with community-based perspectives.
He has experience in water quality assessment and nature-based treatment systems, including constructed wetlands using native macrophytes for wastewater management. His skill set includes field ecology, GIS-based spatial analysis, and statistical analysis (SPSS/R).
Keerthanaram is committed to developing sustainable, locally adaptable solutions to environmental challenges and is currently preparing for postgraduate research in marine resource management, blue economy, and value addition of aquatic bioresources such as seaweed.
