Staff Bios
Mrs. Lori Gooden teaches students in grades kindergarden through grade 3. She is a graduate of John A Logan Junior College and Southern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Special Education and also earned her Masters degree in Special Education. Mrs. Gooden has been a teacher for 28 years., and this is her 16th year at Middle Fork School. In her spare time, Mrs. Gooden enjoys reading, sewing, coloring, antiquing with her husband and especially playing with her granddaughters.
Mrs. Jessica Creech teaches students in grades 6 though 8. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education with an endorsement in History, and a Masters degree in Educational Technology from American College of Education, and an endorsement in Special Education from Greenville College. She has been a teacher for 6 years. This is her 5th year at Middle Fork School. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing video games, and sports.
Mrs. Evelyn Phebus-Haussy teaches students in the High School Life Skills classroom. She is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Special Education. Mrs. Phebus-Haussy has been a teacher for 11 years, and this is her fourth year at Middle Fork School. In her spare time, Mrs. Phebus-Haussy enjoys sewing, singing barbershop music, and spending time with her grandchildren .
Mrs. Sarah Krall teaches students in the Jr. High Life Skills classroom. She is a graduate of Illinois State University, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Special Education. Mrs. Krall has been a teacher for 14 years, and this is her first year at Middle Fork. In her spare time, Mrs. Krall enjoys scrapbooking, camping and spending time with her family. Mrs. Krall is very excited to be here as a teacher at Middle Fork School .
Mr Jason Asaad teacher English and math to the high school students in grades 9-12. He is a 1999 graduate of EIU with a degree in Speech Communications. Mr. Asaad has worked for several years as a long term substitute teacher, and a para-professional. Currently, he is working on a degree in special education. In his spare time, he likes to play golf, hike with his dog, Rory, and is very involved in acting in local performing arts groups.
Mr. Joe Compton teaches math and social science to students in high school. He is a graduate of DACC, EIU, and Indiana University, and has earned a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and a Master's degree in Language Education. He has been a teacher for 22.5 years, and this is his fourth year at Middle Fork School. In his spare time, Mr. Compton enjoys woodworking, gardening, language study, and playing the violin and guitar.
Mr. Eric Childs teaches High School students in the Regional Safe School Program. He is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He has been teaching for 7 years. This is his 2nd year at Middlefork School. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games .
Mrs. Rebecca Jones is a school social worker who works primarily with students in the Middle Fork jr high and high school classrooms, and in the Regional Safe School Program. She is a graduate of Western Illinois University and the University of Illinois. Mrs. Jones has worked as a social worker for 10 years, and this is her second year at Middlefork School. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
Ms Erika Garlisch is a school counselor who works with students in the primary/intermediate classroom and in the high school life skills program. She is a graduate of .
